December 18, 2107

Our school dress rehearsals are tomorrow; our class will perform in the afternoon concert, beginning at 1:30.

There is no spelling list for the first grade students today, but they do have a book (The Lost Horse) to read to a willing audience tonight. Enjoy!

December 15, 2107

We kind of ran out of time for today's spelling test, so there's no spelling book to sign, parents.

The home reading for this weekend will be the 2 Christmas books that the students "wrote". Enjoy!

Here are some photos from today's waffle/pj day, for your viewing pleasure. Have a great weekend, everyone!

3. I'll be serving a waffle/whipping cream/fruit breakfast to the Grade One class. Bring your appetites!

4. There will be a noon dismissal.

5. There will be another healthy snack sale at morning recess.

6. Scroll down to earlier posts for information on our concert, if you need information on the event.

December 13, again!

Please check the post under this one for some more information from our class. I just wanted to add that the first grade students will be visiting the museum to see the Festival of the Trees display tomorrow morning. We plan to go to the museum at 10 am and return in time for recess. Thanks!

There will be a healthy snack sale tomorrow at the morning recess. All items will cost fifty cents.

The first grade students are invited to eat breakfast at our school's pj day Friday morning. I'm planning to make waffles with whipping cream and fruit, and we'll have juice to drink. Save yourself some time this Friday morning, parents, and send your child for the first meal of the day here in Room Four!

The grade one class is getting very good at reading their envelope books; thanks for all the at-home support with this!

Be sure and try out some of the Christmas activities - and the reindeer orchestra - from the "links" at the right hand side of this blog. There are some pretty cool things to check out!

December 11, 2017

Some reminders for the upcoming week:

The student council is sponsoring a pajama day this Friday. Save yourself some time and arrive at school in your favorite pjs!
There will be a noon dismissal for students this Friday.
There will be a spelling test for grades one and two this Friday.
There will be a carol sing-a-long in the gym after recess this Friday.

All the girls, if possible, should bring a large metal mixing bowl to school asap. (We need mixing bowls for our concert number.) Please label your bowl with a bit of masking tape so we can tell everyone's kitchen supplies apart! Thanks.

There are some fun Christmas games on the "links" section of the blog - to the right hand side. Check them out! There's also a cool Reindeer Orchestra a little further down in the links postings. It's pretty fun to try, as well.

Here's a shot of our first graders, just to get you in the Yuletide spirit!

1. Our Grade One/Two class will perform in the Thursday, December 21st Christmas concert this year. The dress rehearsal for our concert will be held on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 19, beginning at 1:30. There is no need for special costuming for our concert number (everyone can just wear their Christmas finery), but all the girls will need a large metal mixing bowl. Please send one asap. Thanks!
The concert will begin at 7:00. Doors open at 6:30.

2.There will be a noon dismissal for students on Friday, December 15th.

3. Our school is once again collecting non-perishable items for our local food bank. If you'd like to send a donation, that would be great. Thanks!
