Word of the day (to complement our cowboy aliases): A.K.A.

Just a quick reminder that we will be swimming tomorrow afternoon.   Please send swim gear and something for the treat table (if possible).  We're swimming from 1:30 until 3:00.  Students can be picked up from the pool.  Any students not picked up by a parent will return to the school with the teachers.

Also, if your child wants special wrapping paper for their journal covers, please send it to school tomorrow, as I'll be making the journal covers this weekend.

There is no spelling test tomorrow, and we've wrapped up our at-home reading program.  (Thanks so much for everyone's help with this.  Parental support is key to establishing a firm academic base.)

Our show and tell tomorrow has a free choice theme, and no written component to go along with it.

The students have a (gasp!) homework-free weekend this weekend!  Let the banners fly and the birdies sing!  (Actually there is one thing everyone was asked to do this weekend: be nice to dads.  Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there!)

Word of the day: errors

Thanks to Addi and her family for bringing the baby chicks in for a farewell visit this afternoon - those little critters are growing like weeds!

For tomorrow's "Tune and Tell", students should bring anything musical.  They can bring an instrument, or sing a song, or bring a CD with a selection to present to the class ... whatever tempts the musical self.

Word of the day: irresistible  (This word was chosen to go along with our High Rise Glorious Skittle Skat Roarious Sky Pie Angel Food Cake book - and cake this afternoon!)

Two notes went home today.  The notes give info about a swim afternoon (next Friday) and a hike (this Friday).  Please sign and return the notes ASAP.
