Grade One (Review) Word of the Day: ecstatic
The students are bringing home invitations for our volunteer assembly which will be held this Thursday afternoon, immediately following the afternoon's bell. Check agenda pockets for your invitation!
Our show and tell theme this week is "Hats off for Show and Tell". Students need to bring something that goes on their head - a ski or hockey helmet, a sombrero, a clown hat ... whatever tempts the imagination! Show and tell sheets are in agenda pockets.

It was great to see everyone back today - and to hear all about the great vacations! It's hard to believe we're on the home stretch of the school year now...
Word of the day: resume
Grade one students have a new dimension to their daily homework now. Students will be chosing their own books to read aloud to an appreciative home audience, then writing about the book they've chosen. A notebook has been added to the golden envelope for this writing, and there are sentence starters that can be used to kick-start the writing - just check inside the notebook cover. I'm looking forward to all the great writing that should start coming to school each day now!
