Happy Groundhog Day! It's unclear what our part of the world would forecast for winter's length. Apparently if a groundhog sees its shadow, it means 6 more weeks of winter. If there's now shadow, spring is supposed to be just around the corner. But it seems that we had cloud in the morning and sunshine is the afternoon, so the duration of our winter is anybody's guess.

The students are bringing home the pinch pot egg separators that we made with Libby Weir. The bottoms of the separators are a little rough, but they should still work to separate eggs. Happy meringue-ing!

Keep the Golden Envelope reading going!

Practise for this week's spelling test. There will be a sentence format for these tests from now on, to allow the students to practise and review proper punctuation and capitalization.

Please remember that book orders are due Friday. Also, we're having a Wacky Hair Day next Tuesday. As well, next Wednesday there is a noon dismissal to allow the teachers to travel to Edmonton for the teacher's convention next Thursday and Friday (February 10th and 11th).
