(Review) word of the day: benign
Happy first day of spring! I meant to tell the class: On the first day of spring, an egg is supposed to be able to balance perfectly on its end. Try it out, if you get a minute, at home.
A note went home today regarding an ususual homework assignment. Students have to build an egg protector - with a raw egg inside - out of any material(s) they'd like. Parents are allowed to help out. The egg protectors should be brought to the school Friday morning. We'll get Mr. White to throw the egg protectors off the roof for us and see how many raw eggs survive the fall. I've tried this activity with other classes before - it's really "eggsciting" for the kids. Thanks in advance for helping out, parents.
The class has been learning some dances with Mrs. Hibberd. Ask to see the line dance moves they were taught today!
Phoebe has already laid 2 more eggs. They were laid March 12th and 15th, so should be ready to hatch around mid-April. (That Phoebe keeps our hummingbird webcam exciting. Bless her little birdie heart.)
The Out-of-School-Care program is hosting a cookie sale this Thursday.
There will be a noon dismissal this Friday.
