Word of the day: opaque

The first graders have been working hard on re-writes - listening to, and then summarizing stories. Our theme has been pirate stories. The class is doing very well at identifying and relating beginnings, middles, and ends, and then adding details about them. I thought yesterday's treasure hunt deserved a photo cameo in our blog - enjoy!

Reminders for Friday:
1. Study those pirate spelling words.
2. It's "Food Dress-Up Day".
3. There is an assembly in the gym at 2:30 to recognise and honour parent and community volunteers.

The first graders have been studying geometry, under the capable direction of Mrs. Hibberd. Soon there won't be a triangular prism or a cube or a pentagon that escapes their notice!
