Word of the day: drowsy
We took a short walk over to the library's temporary location this afternoon. Students who did not have library cards were given one, and we got a tour of the library. Notes regarding the library's summer reading program will go home tomorrow. We didn't sign out books today - we'll leave that up to parents' discretion.
Regarding our planned hike to Mina tomorrow: students should still plan on going. Please send a bagged lunch and a backpack with a water bottle and a small snack, if desired. Students need to dress appropriately and wear appropriate footwear, and - depending on the weather - may choose to carry sunscreen (cross your fingers!) bug repellent, and warm jackets in their packs. We will keep a weather eye out; if it is pouring rain, we'll postphone until a later date (TBA). (We'll wait until recess before we decide whether or not the weather will allow us to hike.) Thanks to Matteo's mom, Sarah and Michael's mom, and Athena's mom for volunteering to hike along with us!
Mrs. Hibberd dropped in for a surprise visit this afternoon! The students were elated to see her. We considered kidnapping her, but then we remembered that that's against the law ... and that her husband would miss her terribly. We can't wait until we see her again!
