Word of the day: precocious

Congratulations to Sally "The Bruiser" Suh, Undertaker Abhigya, Six Pack Tassoni, Let's Get Ready to Rumble Czorny, Braeden the Smasher, Hack-'Em'Up-in-Wee-Bits Golla, and Fire Bolt Howes for perfect completion of today's math facts check-up.

Reminders:
1. Math problem sheet is due tomorrow. Please refer to yesterday's blog if anyone needs advice on what to do when "stuck" on a question.
2. Book orders are due Friday.
3. A newsletter and a note regarding Literacy Week have been sent home.
4. We will be going x-c skiing tomorrow (weather permitting - which means it will have to be warmer than 10 below)at the soccer pitch. Please ensure that your child has mitts, a hat and a hoodie for tomorrow.
5. We will be having a holiday themed show and tell this Friday afternoon. Students are invited (but not required) to bring something related to their Christmas vacation - a toy or other gift, a photo, a story - to share with the class.
6. Here's the Head Scratcher Homework for today:


Two of the fastest horsemen in the kingdom wanted to marry the king's
daughter. The king didn't like either of the horsemen, but he wanted to look fair so he suggested a horse race in which the winner would have his daughter's hand in marriage. The only catch was that the winner would be the person whose horse came in second. The king was certain the race would never take place because he thought that neither horseman whould let the other win. The king's daughter had other plans, and made a suggestion to the two horsemen that would guarantee a fair race. What did she suggest?
