The first graders started a new "Word of the Day" program today. Our first word, appropriately, was initial. We'll be learning a new word each day - some of which may even be challenging for the adults out there!
The first grade students have an "aw" book to practice reading tonight.
A note regarding the school's Brain Boost program went home in the agendas of the second grade students today. Please read the note, complete the questions on it, and return the note to school asap. Thanks. (Mrs. Lawson should have sent home the Brain Boost notes for the first grade students.)
Remember that this Friday is the winter carnival afternoon for the younger grades (kindergarten and grades one to three). Please send appropriate clothing as well as a helmet (for the sledding portion of the afternoon) with your child on Friday.
Mrs. Lawson has sent home a note for the first grade students regarding her Valentine's Day celebration and card exchange. We are planning a grade one book gift exchange here in the morning. There is no need to send anything for this; the books are already purchased and wrapped!
We will have an afternoon party for the second graders tomorrow. If you'd like to send something for our treat table, that would be great! If your child is bringing Valentines, please ensure that they bring one for everyone. The students' names in Grade Two are: Brozjenna, Marco, Hailey, Dustin, Abod, Raymond, Melody, Carson, Emma, Niko, Yuan, Deric, Sadie, Aya, and Alexis.
