Well, that's a wrap for February! What a speedy month!
The first graders' book from yesterday concentrated on "Jail Words" - words that break rules. Specifically, the book looked at words that broke the "when 2 vowels go walking, the first one does the talking" rule for the "ie" combination. (Words like field, cookie, believe, shrieked, pieces, pier, daisies, etc.)
The first graders' book for today concentrates on the "oy"/ "oi" sounds. Enjoy!
There will be a cookie sale this Thursday at recess.
Thanks to everyone for putting names in mittens, winter hats, etc. We've been able to return a few items to owners because of the labels.
