There will be a noon dismissal for students and no school this Thursday and Friday. (Teachers will be attending the annual teachers' convention in Edmonton.)
There is no spelling list for either grade this week.
There will be a Pyjama Day this Wednesday. Roll out of bed, forget about changing into your clothes and show up in your pj outfits, everyone!
The first grade daily reading book concentrates on the "ow" sound. I hope you all enjoy A Cow in Town this evening!
We will be having a Valentine's Day party for the second graders in the afternoon on February 14th. (The first graders will have a special book exchange [which I've already organized; parents don't need to lift a finger or send anything for my first graders] in the morning and will have their party/Valentines exchange in the afternoon. Mrs. Lawson said she'd be sending a note home regarding this.)
If you'd like to send something for the second graders' treat table in the afternoon, we'll do our best to take care of all the ingesting and digesting! Thanks! Also, if your child is bringing Valentines to the party, please make sure that they have Valentines for everyone. Our second grade class list has fifteen names: Niko, Emma, Melody, Carson, Raymond, Abod, Dustin, Hailey, Marco, Brozjenna, Deric, Alexis, Sadie, Aya, and Yuan.
IN keeping with our school's safe and caring emphasis, the student council is sponsoring a craft/card-making activity. The event will be held in Room 7 at noon hour on February 13th. The crafts/cards will be distributed among community members - like residents of the senior citizens' home.
